6,152 active Covid-19 cases reported in Contra Costa County

Contra Costa County, California – Contra Costa County Health Department reports 4 new Covid-19 cases on January 4 which brings to a total of  6,152 active confirmed cases.

There is now a total of 42,632 Covid-19 cases and 347 deaths, and 36,133 people recovered since the beginning of the pandemic in the county.

The Contra Costa Health Department also reported that nobody under 30 years old has died from Covid-19. Out of 347 deaths due to coronavirus, 154 deaths are in nursing homes. There are currently 50 active COVID-19 outbreaks in Contra Costa nursing homes.

259 Covid-19 patients are currently hospitalized. Of those 142 are on the ICU.
