Community feedback sought on new Clean Energy Plan for Existing Buildings in Contra Costa County

Martinez, California – The Contra Costa County Department of Conservation and Development has unveiled the draft Clean Energy Roadmap for Existing Buildings, offering community members an opportunity to help shape the county’s clean energy future. The Roadmap outlines how Contra Costa County can transition existing buildings to clean energy sources, with the goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving indoor air quality.

The draft is now available for public review and comment. Residents are encouraged to visit contracosta.ca.gov/10403/Clean-Energy-Roadmap to read the full plan and submit their feedback by Thursday, April 24, 2025.

Virtual Information Sessions Scheduled for Community Input

To help residents better understand the Roadmap, the county will host two virtual information sessions, both covering the same material:

  • Session 1: April 9, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM

  • Session 2: April 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Community members interested in attending can register through an online form provided on the Roadmap’s webpage.

These sessions offer a chance for the public to learn how clean energy efforts may affect their homes and neighborhoods and how they can be part of building a healthier, more sustainable Contra Costa County.
