Contra Costa County and City of Pleasant Hill to host free Summer Block Party offering services and family-friendly entertainment

Pleasant Hill, California – Residents of Central Contra Costa County will soon have the opportunity to enjoy a day of entertainment while accessing important public services as Contra Costa County brings its annual Summer Block Party to the area in partnership with the City of Pleasant Hill and the office of Supervisor Ken Carlson.

The free event is designed to create a welcoming environment where community members can meet representatives from local government agencies, learn about available programs, and take advantage of a variety of services in one convenient location. Organizers say the Block Party combines practical resources with a fun atmosphere that is suitable for people of all ages.

County agencies will offer services and information

Several county departments will participate in the event, providing information and assistance directly to residents. Participating agencies include the Contra Costa Public Defender’s Office, the Clerk-Recorder-Elections Department, the Employment & Human Services Department, County Public Works, and Contra Costa Health, along with representatives from the City of Pleasant Hill.

Visitors will be able to sign up for important public assistance programs, including CalFresh, Medi-Cal, and CalWORKs. Information about childcare and preschool opportunities will also be available for families seeking educational resources for young children.

The event will also feature the Records within Reach program from the Clerk-Recorder’s Office, allowing residents to access important county record services closer to home. In addition, attendees can register to vote, learn more about local government programs, and connect with Contra Costa Television (CCTV) along with many other county services.

County officials said the event is intended to make government resources easier to access by bringing multiple departments together in one place.
