Sacramento toddler found safe after being abducted, police still searching for the suspect
Contra Costa County, California – According to authorities, an amber alert issued in Alameda and Contra Costa counties Friday night for a young child taken from the Sacramento region was canceled early Saturday by the CHP when the boy was located safe.
Leo Norvell, 3 years old, was kidnapped from Sacramento soon before 5 p.m. on Friday.
Joshua Yago, 30, has been identified as the suspect, who the CHP has described as armed and dangerous.
The toddler was found safe shortly before 3 a.m., according to a tweet from authorities.
Authorities did not clarify whether Yago had been located.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, Yago is the suspect in a double shooting that occurred in the 3900 block of 63rd Street on Friday, wounding a man and a woman.
Norvell is the child of the female victim. According to the police, Yago and Norvell knew each other.
The shooting victims sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
A gray 2011 BMW 328i with the California license plate 6NTU367 is the suspect car.
Yago is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
