Concord appoints new Public Works Director
Concord, California – According to Concord City Manager Valerie Barone, William “Will” Tarbox has been appointed as the city’s Public Works Director. The 13th of December will be his first day in the new role.
He had previously served as the public works director in Benicia.
Mr. Tarbox will lead a team of 75 qualified professionals as Concord’s Public Works Director, covering the city’s infrastructure maintenance obligations (roads, trees, buildings, medians, sewage, storm water, parks).
“With extensive experience in both the private and public sectors, Will brings strong leadership skills, broad expertise, and a commitment to strengthening Concord’s Public Works Department,” said Barone.
Tarbox graduated from the University of San Francisco with a bachelor’s degree in arts and is certified and licensed in process engineering, project management, and general engineering.
A fourth-generation San Franciscan, married with three children, Tarbox enjoys martial arts and cooking.
