Contra Costa County residents affected by winter storms can get federal assistance at new disaster recovery center

Contra Costa County, California – Residents in Contra Costa County who were affected by the winter storms that occurred in December and January still have time to apply for help from the federal government at a new disaster recovery center, according to statements made by county officials on Friday.

The Richmond Civic Center parking lot became the site of a Federal Emergency Management Agency center on Sunday. This center will help people apply for assistance, find housing, and be referred to other organizations that may have additional resources.

The center will be open in the parking lot between 24th and 25th streets in Richmond every day from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. through March 1st. After that, the center will relocate to the Community Presbyterian Church in Pittsburg, which can be found at 200 E. Leland Road, until March 4th.

Residents can go to the recovery center in Danville, which is at 510 La Gonda Way, to get help from state agencies or the Small Business Administration. The Danville center operates from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through March 1, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through March 16.
