Fire crews contained a vegetation fire in Contra Costa County Monday
Contra Costa County, California – Firefighters had brought under control the vegetation fire that was burning in the area of Highland Road and Camino Tassajara in Contra Costa County.
Fire crews responded to a 25-acre vegetation fire in the Tassajara Valley in the middle of the afternoon on Monday, but it spread to over 90 acres around 6 p.m. before being eventually brought under control.
Although there were no homes in the area nearby, multiple units were sent to the location as a full response to the fire, including Contra Costa County Fire, San Ramon Valley Fire, and Alameda County Fire.
Firefighters stayed at the scene for the next several hours to make sure the fire was completely extinguished.
An investigation was launched into the cause of the fire.
