Investigation ongoing after a female body was discovered in the Gilroy canal

Gilroy, California – Investigators with the Gilroy Police Department are investigating after a female body was found dead in a canal.

The remains of the woman’s body were found in the 9000 block of Murray Avenue in the canal on Friday afternoon, according to a police spokesperson.

The body was found by responding units upon their arrival at the scene. The Gilroy Police Department and the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner are conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
