Man arrested on attempted murder charges after an altercation escalated into a shooting
Sunnyvale, California – Several shots were fired after an altercation between two men. The man who discharged the weapon was arrested on attempted homicide charges, according to a spokesperson for the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
This morning, officers were sent to the 600 block of Lakehaven Drive shortly before 10 a.m. for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a man with apparent gunshot wounds in his leg.
The victim told authorities he got into an altercation with a man and, at some point during the altercation, the suspect pulled a handgun from his vehicle, approached him and fired one shot. The suspect drove off from the area after the incident.
With the help of San Jose police officers, authorities were able to identify the suspect and track him down to a house in the 600 block of Albanese Circle in San Jose.
Julian Taylor Lowe, 37, is the suspect who was arrested and brought into the Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose on charges of attempted murder.
The victim was transported for treatment to a nearby hospital. His injuries were said to be non-life threatening.
