Murder and child cruelty charges brought against Santa Rosa couple in connection with their daughter’s death

Santa Rosa, California – Two parents have been charged with the death of their daughter, who was 15 months old at the time of her death in May and had died from a fentanyl overdose. The charges were brought by the District Attorney of Sonoma County.

On Thursday, Evan Frostick, 26, and Madison Bernard, 23, were charged with murder and child cruelty in connection with the death of their daughter Charlotte.

In May, law enforcement discovered the dead body of a little girl inside the apartment complex where she had been living. According to the police, the apartment was filled with evidence of previous fentanyl usage.

This case is very similar to the fatalities in 2019 in Santa Rosa, California, of a father and his 13-month-old baby, both of whom died of a fentanyl overdose. In that case, federal prosecutors convicted several people.
