One firefighter injured in Contra Costa County house fire

Contra Costa County, California – While battling a residential fire in Walnut Creek on Monday morning, a firefighter suffered minor burn and hand laceration injuries.

According to the Fire Captain Tracie Dutter, around 11 a.m. the crews responded to a report of a house on fire on Harmony Lane.

According to the fire crews, the fire started in the garage of a house and quickly extended into the home, causing a damage of at least $300,000. The fire was extinquished around 11:30 a.m.

The injured firefighter was transported to the nearest hospital. He is now recovering from the injuries.

It is still unknown what caused the fire. The investigation is ongoing.
