Pittsburg man arrested after CHP found over $700,000 in stolen goods
Pittsburg, California – The California Highway Patrol found more than $700,000 worth of stolen goods in a Pittsburg home and a storage facility.
Authorities said they believe the 45-year-old man was a member of an organized retail theft ring. Julio Cuellar was arrested and put into the Solano County Jail.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers searched the residence in Pittsburg and discovered stolen bags and boxes filled with goods from a variety of stores, including CVS Health, Safeway, Target, RiteAid, Sunglass Hut, Lululemon, Macy’s, Total Wine and more, and several other businesses.
During the search of the home, authorities found that Cuellar had rented multiple storage units at a facility located nearby. They searched the storage units also and found additional stolen goods.
The California Highway Patrol shared pictures of the haul on their Facebook page.
Julio Cuellar was taken into custody on charges of organized retail theft and conspiracy.
Retail store thefts have been a major issue not just in California but all over the United States.
