Shopping Malls, Hair Salons, Barber Shops Open In Concord
Concord, California – Following new guidance announced last Friday by Gov. Gavin Newsom, hair salons and barber shops were allowed to reopen in Concord and throughout Contra Costa County Monday for indoor services.
Also allowed to reopen on Monday: indoor shopping malls. The malls are required to restrict customers to 25-percent of maximum capacity.
The changes are a huge step forward for businesses struggling to survive coronavirus shelter-in-place restrictions that have been in place since March.
But not all businesses were given the go-ahead to reopen. Indoor dining and bars are a big loser, as they remain closed. Movie theaters, museums, and entertainment facilities such as the Concord Pavilion are still off-limits.
Children’s playgrounds are still closed, and the process to reopen in-class instruction has not changed.
