Two people taken into custody for several crimes, including a murder in Contra Costa County, after deputies served warrants at an Antioch home
Contra Costa County, California – According to the announcement made by the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, two individuals have been taken into custody in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred in March in Contra Costa County.
Deputies served warrants at a residence in Antioch and arrested the 20-year-old, Jalin Washington, and the 19-year-old Don-Juan Watson on suspicion of murdering Basel Jilani, 20, on March 23 in the vicinity of Taylor Road and Gloria Terrace.
Washington and Watson are also suspected of being involved in a number of thefts all across the Bay Area. Both of them, according to the sheriff’s office, were booked into the county jail on suspicion of murder, two counts of robbery, and conspiracy. Washington was also booked for burglary, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and allowing someone to discharge a firearm from his vehicle.
Deputies said both suspects are being held at the Martinez Detention Facility without bail.
