$6 million secured by Contra Costa County for HIP expansion

Contra Costa County, California – The Holistic Intervention Partnership (HIP) will undergo a significant expansion over the next three years thanks to a grant in the amount of $6 million that has been secured by the Contra Costa County Office of the Public Defender and the Contra Costa County Health, Housing, and Homeless Services Department. The grant was awarded by the California Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC).

HIP was first launched in June of 2020 as a pilot initiative, and it brings together an integrated, multidisciplinary team of individuals from public agencies and community-based groups.

Those in the criminal justice system who are battling mental illness, drug addiction, and homelessness will get assistance from the HIP team, which is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those in need.

Public Defender clients who are at danger of becoming homeless will also benefit from this expanded funding, which will include significant funds to provide them with homes.
