Arson suspect sought in connection with several fires along Highway 4
Pittsburg, California – Fire crews were sent in response to reports of several fires along State Route Highway 4 near Pittsburg on Sunday, and authorities are now searching for an arson suspect.
According to Con Fire, two engines and a battalion of 12 were deployed to three minor fires near San Marco Boulevard along Highway 4. Responding crews determined the fires were intentionally started.
A witness in a nearby church provided a description of the suspect, saying he was a Hispanic male in his late teens to early 20s, wearing gray pants, a white t-shirt, and a yellow backpack.
According to the latest known information, the suspect was last seen walking near Willow Pass Road and Highway 4.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office and Con Fire are now looking for the suspect.
