Authorities looking for driver after a male pedestrian died in a hit-and-run
San Jose, California – Authorities are now looking for the motorist involved in a hit-and-run accident that resulted in the death of a male pedestrian early on Tuesday, according to the San Jose police department.
An accident between a vehicle and a pedestrian was reported to have occurred in the 200 block of South Jackson Avenue at around 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday, and officers were sent to the scene, according to the police. At the scene, the victim’s death was confirmed by medical personnel.
South Jackson between Kammerer and San Antonio was closed during the investigation, and traffic in both directions was detoured.
The death of the pedestrian marks the 34th fatality on San Jose’s streets this year.
