Contra Costa authorities will cooperate with WCPD to prevent thefts during holiday
Contra Costa County, California – Authorities from Contra Costa County will cooperate with the Walnut Creek Police Department to prevent coordinated retail thefts like the one that happened last month at the Broadway Plaza shopping mall.
During the holidays, Contra Costa deputy sheriffs will patrol downtown Walnut Creek alongside police officers in order to help prevent similar incidents.
“I made a personal commitment to the City of Walnut Creek to staff downtown Walnut Creek with deputy sheriffs during the holidays. Working with our partners at the Walnut Creek Police Department, this deployment from the Sheriff’s Office will help keep businesses, shoppers and residents safe,” Contra Costa Sheriff David Livingston said.
