Man arrested for kidnapping attempt and sexual assault

Concord, California – Officers within the Concord Police Department arrested a man on Christmas and now they are asking for anyone who may have been contacted by him to give them a call.

According to police, Michael Anton, 27, approached a woman walking down Wilson Lane near Dianda Drive and offered her food.The woman refused the offer, but Anton then sexually assaulted her and tried to kidnap her.

The victim resisted and managed to fight off Anton, after which he fled the scene in a white 2001 Chevrolet Blazer.

The vehicle was located the same day by authorities, and they took Anton into custody at Contra Costa jail.

He is now facing several charges, including sexual assault and a kidnapping attempt.
