One man injured, other killed in a shooting incident early Thursday in Antioch

Antioch, California – A shooting incident in the early morning hours of Thursday resulted in one fatality and one injury.

Officers were dispatched to Lawton Street near D Street around 1 p.m. following a report of gunfire in the area.

The police say that when they arrived, they found two people with apparent gunshot wounds in the driveway of a house.

The officers immediately rendered first aid to the victims and summoned emergency medical crews to the site, but, unfortunately, one of the victims, a 34-year-old man, died. The other victim, a 45-year-old man, was transported for treatment to a hospital and there is no word on his condition.

The initial investigation showed the incident took place outdoors in the form of a drive-by shooting.

Police said the suspect or suspects fled the scene.
