Police looking for suspects in connection to attempted carjacking

Walnut Creek, California – The investigation regarding an attempted carjacking that happened on Sunday evening in Walnut Creek is still ongoing.

According to the Walnut Creek Police Department, a man was supposed to meet with his friend, and while waiting for him in the vehicle, he was approached by three individuals who tried to steal his car.

The driver was told to leave his car by one of the suspects, who brandished a handgun at him.

The victim was able to flee the scene without being wounded. After arriving at a safe area, the victim called 911.

However, no suspects were discovered or identified despite a thorough search of the area that included help from the California Highway Patrol’s Air Unit.

Authorities provided descriptions of the suspects:

  • A Black boy between the ages of 17 and 18, dressed in a blue hooded sweatshirt.
  • A Hispanic boy between the ages of 17 and 18, dressed in a gray hooded sweatshirt.
  • A Black boy between the ages of 17 and 18 with a light complexion. A description regarding the outfit of this suspect was not released.

It is not known whether the suspects came on foot or if they had another form of transport.
