Pride Prom scheduled for April 23rd at Concord High School

Concord, California – Juniors and seniors from chosen high schools in Contra Costa County will be invited to a first-of-its-kind “Pride Prom” on April 23, 2022, at Concord High School. The event will be held at Concord High School at 8 p.m. and will be the first of its type in the county.

The executive director of the Rainbow Community Center and one of the prom’s co-sponsors, Kiku Johnson, said, “To have this happen is huge. To have that visibility, and it’s not even just couples, it’s all the ways in which we show up.”

The cost of the tickets is $40.

The event will include catered appetizers and desserts, a DJ, a professional photographer, and a self-portrait photo booth.

Plus-ones may be from another school, but they must be between the ages of 16 and 19.

Additional information about the event may be found on the PFLAG Claycord website.
