Two drivers taken into custody following a multi-vehicle crash in Sunnyvale that left two women dead

Sunnyvale, California – In the early hours of Saturday morning, a collision involving several vehicles took place in Sunnyvale, resulting in the deaths of two people and the arrest of two others.

The crash involved three automobiles and took place on Highway 101 at Mathilda Avenue in Sunnyvale at around 2:45 in the morning, according to authorities.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision initially involved two vehicles, a Prius and a Jeep. After the collision, two female occupants who had been riding in one of the vehicles walked onto the highway and were struck by a third vehicle, ultimately resulting in their deaths.

There was no information provided on whether the victims were identified.

According to authorities, the drivers of the Jeep and the Prius were taken into custody for driving under the influence, while the third driver will not be facing any charges and cooperated with police.
