Police asking for help in identifying a man suspected of sexual assault of a blind woman

Cupertino, California – Public’s help is needed in identifying a man suspected of sexual assault of a blind woman in Cupertino.

Authorities in Santa Clara County published several photos and videos of the suspect on Monday and are hoping that someone will be able to identify him.

According to investigators, the assault occurred on May 5 when the victim exited a coffee shop and the suspect approached her trying to flirt.

The victim politely declined the suspect before proceeding on her way. The woman was unaware that the suspect then followed her into a Target store, according to investigators.

The suspect was captured on the store’s surveillance cameras.

The man then followed the woman out of the store, continuing the stalking. The victim continued walking in the neighborhood of Stevens Creek Boulevard and North Stelling Road, when the suspect approached her again, pulled her, and assaulted her in a parking lot, according to investigators.

A witness, who was sitting in his car at the time, noticed what was going on and started honking.

The witness the exited the vehicle, stopped the assault and pursued the suspect.

The suspect managed to get into his vehicle and fled the scene.

Authorities believe the suspect is in his early 20’s or 30’s. He stood 5′ 10′′ tall and weighed 240 pounds.

He fled the scene in a silver Scion XB from 2003 to 2007 without a front licence plate.
