San Francisco police detained a person in connection with a shooting incident that sent one man to hospital

San Francisco, California – A shooting incident on McAllister St. and Jones St. near the Civic Center BART station left one person wounded on Sunday afternoon.

The officers were sent to the location after receiving reports about a shooting at around 3:30 p.m., according to the San Francisco Police Department. Responding officers found a person suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency crews took the victim for treatment to a hospital.

Officials did not reveal information on the victim’s condition.

Individuals that reported the shooting also provided authorities with a description of the suspect during the 911 call. The details provided by callers reporting the incident helped police later locate and detain an individual who matched the description.

The investigation into this incident is still underway.
